Albuquerque Area Estate Sales
Roadrunner Estate Sales brings a professional, transparent, and client-focused approach to estate sales in Albuquerque and the surrounding area.
When you’re planning a sale during a life transition, this page walks through our process step by step — from setup and pricing to advertising, sale days, and final accounting.
Before the Sale
Roadrunner is careful, meticulous, and professional in preparing your Estate Sale.
We provide tables, tablecloths, and all necessary staging materials to display items throughout the home in a clean, organized, and appealing way. Thoughtful presentation improves the shopping experience and helps items sell more effectively.
Clean, well-presented items tend to sell more quickly and at better prices. Whether a home has been occupied recently or has been vacant for some time, many items benefit from a careful once-over. Our staff makes sure items are presented in their best light, and that all electronics are tested and working properly before the sale.
Every item in the home is priced individually. Our owner has more than 15 years of experience in estate sales and appraisals, and that experience informs how each sale is priced and managed. Our staff works within that framework to ensure consistency and attention to detail throughout the process.
We also set aside any personal items that may be discovered during setup. Occasionally something is overlooked, and when that happens, we save those items in an agreed-upon location for you.
Selective donations and disposal before the sale are often essential to achieving the best outcome. Removing stained or heavily worn linens and other low-value items helps the remaining contents show better and prevents higher-quality items from being undervalued by association.
We take the disposal of hazardous materials seriously and ensure they are handled in compliance with local guidelines. Information about household hazardous waste requirements in Bernalillo County can be found here.
Advertising Your Sale
Roadrunner employs multiple advertising streams.
We use professional photography to create clear, high-quality images that accurately represent the contents of the home. Our goal is to show the overall scope of the sale while also highlighting a selection of individual items that may be of particular interest to shoppers.
Sales are promoted through a combination of social media, email, on-site and neighborhood signage, and traditional print advertising. This multi-channel approach helps ensure that each sale attracts a broad mix of shoppers, from casual buyers to experienced collectors.
We also keep our company profile on estatesales.net up to date. As the largest estate sale advertising platform in the country, it is an important way for many shoppers to discover upcoming sales and plan their visits.
During the Sale
In order to provide the best shopping experience, Roadrunner employs a friendly and helpful staff on sale days.
We greet shoppers as they arrive and provide relevant information about the items in the home. Sales are staffed appropriately to ensure questions are answered and needs are handled smoothly throughout the day.
Items of higher value, such as jewelry or special collectibles, are gathered in a single, secure location and monitored by a dedicated staff member for the duration of the sale.
We accept cash, credit cards, and digital payment methods. Digital or printed receipts are available upon request.
To help items make it safely home, we provide bags, boxes, and basic packing materials for customer purchases.
After the Sale
Roadrunner makes the financial aspect of your sale straightforward, honest, and transparent.
There are no upfront costs when hiring Roadrunner Estate Sales. Our fee is deducted directly from the proceeds of the sale. Within ten business days of the sale’s conclusion, you will receive a cashier’s check for your proceeds.
Once the sale has concluded, our staff removes all of our supplies from the home and does a light clean-up of the sale areas, such as wiping surfaces and vacuuming. While this is not a deep cleaning service, it helps leave the home neat and ready for next steps.
While the goal is always to sell as much as possible, some items may remain. Any unsold items belong to the estate, and the decision about what happens to them is entirely yours. Items can be left behind, or — if you prefer — we can help arrange donation pickup through a local charity.
